There has been a huge growth in caravanning and the new International Caravan and Motorhome 2006 show has been created to reflect this surge.

The event at Birmingham's NEC from October 17-22 brings together more 1000 models including caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents, folding campers and holidays homes, and the latest accessories.

Caravanning has become the most popular paid-for holiday in the country, with a 17pc share of all UK holiday spending. Last year some 8,800 motorhomes were registered and this year more than 10,000 new owners are expected.

The show will also offer visitors free expert towing lessons from the Camping and Caravanning Club and for those who've just bought a motor caravan free Motorhome Manoeuvring lessons from the Caravan Club.

Two-day tickets can only be bought in advance and cost £13.50 per adult and £11.25 for seniors. Advance single-day tickets are £9 for adults (£11 on the door), £7.50 for senior citizens (£9.50 on the door) with children aged 15 and under admitted free. A free show guide will be available on the door.
