A West Norfolk hotel has won a top tourism award.

Titchwell Manor, on the coast near Brancaster has won the East of England Tourism Small Hotel of the Year Award.

Recognised as the highest accolades in English tourism, the awards were presented at a glittering ceremony at the Ickworth Hotel, Suffolk.

The hotel will now automatically be entered for the national awards, which will be announced in April 2011.

Entrants need to show their commitment to sustainability, recycling and the environment, as well as customer care and comfort.

Titchwell's owner Margaret Snaith said: 'This unexpected honour for our small hotel reflects back on our wonderful, welcoming, happy and hard working team. 'We are also fortunate to be in a stunning location with North Norfolk's coastal larder right on our doorstep.'
