A golden coloured male Staffordshire Bull Terrier, with a white tip on his tail, was taken from the back yard of a home at Roman Road at about 12.30am this morning
Occupants at the property heard the noise of their back gate being opened and moments later the dog was discovered to be missing.
They rushed out and saw a male pulling the dog along by its collar.
The thief then picked up the dog, carrying him under his arm into Seago Street.
He was 6ft, of a slim build and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top
Anyone who has information about who took the dog or where it is now should call PC 1683 Baldwin at Lowestoft on 101.
