The event - which is hosted at the Players Theatre, Battery Green on Saturday, November 10 has been timed and themed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice in November 1918.

From 6.30pm these experts will talk through 17 rare images of drifters and trawlers of the local fishing fleet during World War Two.

The event will boast a walk-through period so attendees peruse the display material from the Maritime Museum and Port of Lowestoft Research society, the material on 'HMS Mantiis' which is on loan from the Oulton Broad Museum.

The organisers of the event have also issued a public appeal for families who may have images of loved-ones in their drifter at the time.

If people would like to lend their images to the Research Society to complete the wartime records contact Peter Page on 01502 511438.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online, on the ticket hotline on 01502 770020 or at the theatre box office.
