A 14-YEAR-OLD girl was sexually assaulted as she walked along a road with two friends in Lowestoft.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Norwich Road area between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday (April 21), to come forward after the teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted.

'Police were contacted yesterday afternoon, Monday, April 23, about the incident,' a police spokesman said. 'The girl was with two friends, both girls of similar age, and the three were walking along the road when they were approached by a man, described as white, aged in his late teens to 20s, with short mousey blond spiky hair and wearing dark clothing including a short dark coat.

'The man took hold of the 14-year-old's wrist and then touched her over her clothing before her friends pulled her away. The girls then looked back and saw the man was exposing himself.'

Police need to trace the man and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him or the girls in the area between these times.

If you were there and saw anything that may help enquiries, or if you have any information about the man, please call PC 679 Shrubsall at Lowestoft police on 101.
