Emergency services were called to Cobholm, in Great Yarmouth, yesterday evening where a teenage cyclist was involved in an accident with a van.
It happened at around 6.50pm when the boy was travelling from Tyrells Road into Mill Road.
He was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes Vito van and sustained serious head injuries.
An ambulance crew, officer and the East of England Air Ambulance attended, and the boy was treated at the scene by Anglia One crew Drs David Potter and Jeremy Mauger and critical-care paramedic Chris Neil with pain relief.
He was then taken - with his father - to James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston before being transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
