Organisers have added a third performance area to the growing Tasburgh Community Festival, which will be held next weekend.

The day, which will raise funds for new play equipment in the south Norfolk village, includes six top local bands, three soloists and three attractions in the main arena.

Entertainment will also come from the World of Wings bird of prey display, the Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team and Dr Ken and his amazing juggling at the festival on Saturday, June 23 at Tasburgh Village Hall.

Organiser Tony Young said they had created a third performance area inside the village hall for several up-and-coming local bands and acts.

'If only we had more time in the day we could accommodate more live music. Or perhaps next year we could hold a two day event with the full festival experience. That may be pie in the sky, but at the end of the day it's down to the people who attend, because they are the ones who stay and enjoy the music and the family friendly atmosphere,' he said.

This year's festival has an Olympic theme to it and organisers have arranged for local fundraiser and Olympic torch bearer Josh Worley to lead a torch parade through the village at 11am.

Money raised from the previous events has already been put to good use in the form of both children's and adults play equipment.

However, Recreation for All – the organisers and beneficiaries of the event – still have a way to go to completely redesign and re-equip the play equipment.

Music starts at midday until 8pm.
