The swan was making its way along the A1151 Norwich Road towards Wroxham Bridge this morning when local NHS worker, Lianne Thompson, came to its rescue.

Traffic had begun to build up around the bird, who continued to stroll across the bridge, oblivious to the trouble it was causing.

Taking action, Ms Thompson, who had just finished a night shift, attempted to protect the bird by walking alongside it, keeping it out of the path of oncoming vehicles and taking it across the bridge to a safer location.
