A new independent toy shop has reported a successful first weekend following an official opening by the mayor of Swaffham.
Henchman's took over the premises on Lynn Road opposite Asda left vacant when Neil's Cards closed after more than four decades.
Run by Swaffham couple Keith and Sandra Sandle, it offers games, educational activities, crafts, puzzles, soft toys, T-shirts and collectables.
Mrs Sandle said: 'We opened the doors at 9am on Saturday in glorious sunshine. We had a fantastic day in which the people of Swaffham and surrounding towns and villages came out in force to support our new venture.
'Everyone has been very positive about the shop and at one point we had a queue of people waiting to get in because the shop is quite small. We couldn't have asked for more and it's lovely to meet people of all ages who love to play games.'
She said the shop has a good day on Sunday July 22, despite it not being a farmers' market day, and would continue to open on Sundays as well as Tuesday to Saturday.
