Former Strictly Come Dancing stars James and Ola Jordan lit up Carrow Road with a special dance routine to celebrate Age UK Norfolk's 70th anniversary.

The event on Saturday evening celebrated the work of the Norfolk charity which has been providing help and support to older people in the county for 70 years and raised over £6,500.

Age UK Norfolk began life in 1947 as 'Norfolk Older People's Welfare Association', to provide help and assistance to older people during the aftermath of the Second World War and to provide a voice for their rights and dignity. The charity continues that ethos today through their work with dementia friendly communities, dementia cafes, free information and advice, telephone befriending and campaigning to combat loneliness among older people, all vital services which the funds raised at the ball can help to support.

The event, sponsored by local organisations Farrows, n-able, Onyx and Steeles Law, began with a drinks reception, followed by a three course meal from Delia's restaurant. Guests were delighted by the dance routine from the Jordan's and also had the chance to dance along to the swinging sounds of the Jonathan Wyatt Big Band and enjoy a sparkling drinks reception, accompanied by talented local musician, saxophonist Mariasax.

Along with an auction of luxury lots - including a Tour of the Royal Stud at Sandringham and an exclusive table raffle, the event kicked off a year of celebrations for the Norfolk charity in their 70th year, with more events and challenges set to follow.

Age UK Norfolk Chief Executive, Hilary MacDonald, said: 'We're delighted with the success of the event as a celebration of the wonderful achievements of the charity over the last 70 years and to raise funds to help us continue supporting older people across the county. James and Ola and all the performers put on a fantastic show. We are very grateful to everyone who attended the ball and to our sponsors for their support.'
