Norwich City chairman Ed Balls suggested a return to politics was out of the question as he talked about his next move following his elimination from Strictly Come Dancing.
The former shadow chancellor became a fan favourite during his time on the BBC One competition and many have questioned whether he would pick up his political career not that his run on the dancefloor is over.
But speaking on BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two, Mr Balls said: 'I think if I was thinking I was going to go back to politics, I'm not sure I would have been a Zoolander male model, pulling those faces!
'I think it would have been the most crazy thing to do.'
He continued: 'I don't know, but I'm just recovering from an amazing three months and I'm looking forward to what's happening next year, and maybe going on the tour.
'So there are good things still to come, and who knows?'
Mr Balls - who got his marching orders at the weekend after a dance-off with Judge Rinder - said he was happy that his wife Yvette Cooper and friend Jeremy Vine had convinced him to sign up for the show, saying: 'They were so right.'
The 49-year-old said early on in the competition that he was reluctant to fully commit to Strictly's sequins, spangles and spray tans.
But it seems he is now a convert, as he told host Zoe Ball of his fake tan: 'I am not washing it off!'
The ex-politician looked teary as a video montage of his best bits was played.
But he soon perked up when host Mra Ball said everybody wanted to see him perform his Gangnam Style dance one more time.
His professional partner Katya Jones pulled him to his feet and the pair treated the audience to a quick segment of their routine, to cheers and applause.
Mrs Ball then cheekily suggested he try the much-talked about failed lift - and Mr Balls obliged, picking up Mrs Jones and spinning her around on his shoulders.
The contestant frequently pulled in low scores from the judges during his time on the dancefloor.
But he said he had wanted to combine technical prowess with some good old-fashioned entertainment.
'We never compromised on trying to get dance content in but we also wanted it to be fun - and it was fun,' he said.
