Officers were called to reports of a stray bullock beside the A148, near Fakenham Rugby Club, on Saturday morning.
After encouraging the beast to moo-ve back to its field, they tweeted a picture and launched a caption contest on Twitter.
Some of the best ones were posted today on the Norfolk police Instagram account.
'The steaks are high when it comes to road safety,' said one user. 'I was just wondering who was more afraid of being charged,' said another.
And finally: 'I haven't got the correct size handcuffs or bull-et proof vest.'
