Special cake made for jubilee celebrations in Thornage

More than 100 people braved Sunday's bad weather for a grand hog roast at Thornage.

The village celebrated the Diamond jubilee in two marquees erected outside Thornage Hall.

Handbell ringers from the Camphill Trust and local musicians Justin Myers and Tony Britten added to the festive atmosphere.

And resident Jackie Wright made a diamond-shaped cake with blue icing, decorated with the names of all the commonwealth countries, red and white roses, horses and corgis.
