Households and businesses in South Norfolk hit by power cuts have been warned they may see further disruption to electricity supplies as engineers work to fix the problem.

UK Power Networks received multiple reports from people without power around Attleborough, Old Buckenham and Banham at around 12.45pm on Monday.

The problem caused by a fault to overhead cables has affected properties in the NR16 2 and NR17 1 postcode areas.

The power supplier's control room were able to switch some customers' power back while engineers were sent out to investigate and make repairs.

A spokesman from UKPN said: 'Our engineers have been able to do a temporary fix to the fault on our overhead cabling network. However, additional work is required in order to permanently fix the fault. To do this safely, power may go off again later as repairs progress.'
