Like a long line of Rogers before him – Federer, Moore, Wilson, Daltrey – four-year-old gorgeous greyhound Roger is hoping that fame, frame and athletic prowess will also make him a success as he looks for love.

Says Kate Brewster, Dogs Trust Snetterton supporter relations officer: 'Roger is a big friendly lad who loves being around people. He is a very affectionate boy and will make a truly wonderful companion and fun addition to any feline-free family.

'Arriving straight from the race tracks Roger, AKA Rogue, has limited knowledge of life outside of kennels, but for his new family supporting him as he adjusts to his new environment is likely to be a very rewarding experience, and we are sure he will quickly learn the benefits of living within a home, especially if there is a comfy bed on offer for him.

'Roger is a strapping chap who possesses many star qualities; he has lovely manners, is a pleasure to walk on the lead and is a natural in front of the lens, as discovered by internationally renowned photographer, Justin Paget, when he visited the Snetterton rehoming centre. Roger was definitely a firm favourite on the day (Photograph courtesy of Justin Paget).

'Roger is simply a joy to be around, and with time and patience Roger's big heart will repay, in love, all of the kindness shown to him.'
