A serial sex offender wanted by police in Lowestoft is believed to be the same man who assaulted a 15-year-old girl in the town earlier this week, it was revealed last night.

The teenage victim was walking along Katwijk Way with her mother at 2pm last Friday, when a man grabbed her between the legs from behind.

It is believed to be the same man responsible for at least five indecent exposures in the town over the last month.

Police are now becoming increasingly concerned about the attacks and are appealing to anyone with information or who may recognise the attacker to come forward.

He is described as in his late teens or early 20s, with dark skin, possibly of mixed-race, and around 5ft 8ins tall. In every incident he has been described as wearing casual clothes, including tracksuits and jeans, and has been seen riding a bike.

At present, the five incidents police are connecting are:

Friday, August 25 - at 3pm a man exposed himself to a

41-year-old woman as she was biking along an alleyway near Hoseasons.

Sunday, August 27 - a man committed an indecent act in front of a 46-year-old woman as she walked her dog near

the Foxborough School in Foxborough Road.

Saturday, September 2 - at 6.30pm a man riding a bike exposed himself to a 21-year-old woman as she walked along the A12 between The Forburrow Pub and Tesco.

Tuesday, September 19 - at 1pm a man exposed himself to a 30-year-old woman as she cycled along St Margarets Road.

Friday, September 22 - at 4pm a man exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl and her friend as they walked along Hill Road. When the girls ignored him, he chased them on a moped and later

ollowed them on foot down an alleyway close to Avondale Road.

Police spokesman Anne-Marie Breach said: "It is very important that we trace this man as soon as possible. We have had a number of incidents in the past few weeks and the description of this man is quite distinctive;

somebody out there must know who he is.

"We also want other people who may not have reported incidents to come forward to help us build a clearer picture of when and where these offences are happening."

Anyone who has any information about the man or the incidents is asked to contact Lowestoft police on 01986 835 100.
