A 28-year-old man died after he was 'ejected' from the back of a vehicle in Bradwell, an inquest heard.
Scott Baisley, from St Olaves, near Great Yarmouth, suffered a serious head injury following the accident on June 22 this year.
The service support manager was rushed to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for treatment, but died four days later on June 26.
At the opening of his inquest in Norwich on Tuesday, assistant coroner Johanna Thompson said Mr Baisley had been offered a lift by friends as they drove past.

She said he had climbed into the vehicle's 'cargo area' rather than a passenger seat. At some point during the journey he was then 'ejected' from the vehicle, the inquest heard.
His medical cause of death was given as bronchopneumonia due to an intracranial injury as a result of head trauma.
The full inquest is due to take place on January 3, 2018.
