Scratby death ‘not suspicious’
POLICE closed off a section of a Scratby clifftop road this afternoon after the body of a man in his 30s was found in a car.
An area of Rottenstone Lane from the junction with Beach Road as far as the entrance to California Cliffs caravan park was cordoned off at 3pm following the discovery in a silver Vauxhall Vectra parked in Scratby clifftop car park.
Unconfirmed reports suggested the man had taken his own life and that two gas canisters had also been found in the vehicle, prompting the evacuation of a number of caravans in close proximity to the car park.
A police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the coroner had been informed.
