A cricket match was cancelled after four players were involved in a collision on the way to the game.

Players of the Sandringham Cricket Club 2nd team were on their way to a match in Castle Acre scheduled for 1.30pm on Saturday, June 23.

But in Queen Elizabeth Way, A149, in King's Lynn, they were involved in a four-vehicle collision just after midday.

A cricket club spokesman said none of the cricketers were seriously injured but two of the players had bumped their heads.

After being advised by ambulance staff the club decided to cancel the cricket match that afternoon.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene at around 12.20pm where they treated people with minor injuries.

An ambulance spokesman said staff treated a woman with a broken hand and a child with unknown injuries. They were both taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn for further care.
