The Dean of Norwich, the Very Rev Jane Hedges, showed off her pint pulling skills during a charity cheque handover on day one of the Royal Norfolk Show.
Rev Hedges joined Woodforde's Brewery MD Rupert Farquharson at the brewer's stand where she was handed a cheque for £500 in support of You Are Not Alone (YANA), her chosen charity as the president of this year's show. YANA raises awareness about mental health issues in the farming community in Norfolk.
Following the handover, she went behind the bar and pulled two pints of Nelson's Revenge. 'I have become very aware of the number of people that have mental health issues and my association with the show brought those issues together,' she said.
Mr Farquharson said the company was heavily involved in the Norfolk farming community and wanted to give something back. 'We use 500 tons of locally grown barley to produce 5m pints a year. Yana resonated with us as it works in an area we are passionate about.'
Commenting on Rev Hedges skills behind the bar, he said: 'It was the perfect pint, she did a great job.'
