A stolen digger blocked the road at North Elmham, near Dereham this morning.
The machinery had a flat tyre and it needed to be replaced before it could be moved, a Norfolk Police spokesman said.
Traffic was delayed when the B1110 Holt Road was closed both ways between B1145 and Eastgate Street for around half-an-hour.
The digger was eventually moved and the road was re-opened at about 9.20am.
