He may spend most of his time running his family fish smoking business but when Richard Bunning isn't selling his produce on the market, he is conquering the world of clay pigeon shooting.
He recently competed in the world championships with England and achieved a high enough individual score to be entered into a tournament comprising of the best six players in the competition.
With Mr Bunning and his competitor tied by the last round, he prevailed in a tense sudden death shoot out to be crowned the world champion out of the 1,500 contestants who entered.
He said he was thrilled with his success so far.
Mr Bunning said: 'It's a really special achievement as it's the biggest competition in the sport and a really hard one to win.
'It's like winning the football World Cup.
'For everyone watching it was one of the best finals they have seen for years.
'This is the pinnacle of the sport and everyone's dream.'
This isn't the first success Mr Bunning, who lives in Southburgh, near Dereham, has had this year.
He was also named the English Open champion after winning another thrilling sudden death shoot out, the first of his double trophy win which is extremely rare in the sport.
Mr Bunning added: 'I didn't expect to do a double, I was lucky enough to win one but to win two has been brilliant.
'Over the years I have been in finals before and that experience probably helped me win this year.'
He first started shooting when he was a boy and has competed in and won hundreds of minor tournaments but stopped to focus on the bigger competitions.
Mr Bunning's latest victories represent a life's work, however he can still only commit to practising one day a week due to commitments to his business G R Bunning and Co.
He said the victory came as a bit of a shock.
He said: 'It came as a surprise to win against people who shoot for a living.
'At the moment I can only really practise one day a week.
'This just shows that if you take your best performance and your mentality is right, then anything is possible.'
