A rare Korat Blue cat from just outside Norwich has caught the eye of the team behind a national photography competition.

The team at Budget Insurance are currently running the #PappedPets competition which looks to showcase the nation's most photogenic pets.

Two-year-old Leo, photographed by Declan Williams, aged 15, is one of over 80 pets already entered into the competition, which has seen entries from owners of dogs, cats, a donkey and even a hedgehog.

His owner Sharon Williams, who entered him into the competition, said he is one unique feline.

'My son took the photo with the new camera he got for his birthday, he's quite the budding photographer,' she said. 'Leo loves cake, though he's only allowed a tiny bit. I love his funny unique personality and his cuddly nature. He was named Leo because he stalks around like a little lion.'

Korat cats are named after the region in north-east Thailand where they originated; though their Thai name is Si Sawat, meaning greyish-blue, after their colour.

Libby Morley, Budget Insurance marketing manager, added: 'In these grey and gloomy winter days he's really cheered us up and we wanted to find out more about him. We're also very impressed by Declan's photography skills.'

• The winner of #PappedPets will win a £300 photoshoot with their pet. The competition is open until midnight on February 10 and you can enter by posting your photo with #PappedPets on Budget Insurance's Facebook page.
