A donation from the Queen and an 11-year-old has helped a charity buy specialist equipment for children with movement difficulties.
The Queen made a donation to Little Discoverers, based in King's Lynn, from her Privy Purse which enabled the charity to buy a Scoot - a toy in which non-walking children are able to scoot around using their hands to propel themselves.
The funds were further boosted by the charity chairman's grandson Sam Binnington, 11, who had asked to be sponsored to do a triathlon for Little Discoverers instead of receiving presents on his birthday.
A charity spokesman said: 'We are very grateful to have donations coming from all different types of circumstance, from a little boy on his birthday to the Queen.
'Our aim is to continue to provide this much needed service into the future. We cannot wait to get using the Scoot with our families at Little Discoverers.'
