A call has been made for members of the public to sign a petition of support for Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) facing the axe in Norfolk.

Proposals announced by Norfolk Police, include axing all 150 PCSOs and replacing them with 81 police officers as part of a move that would save £2m.

Caren Reeves, Norfolk's branch secretary of UNISON, the union which represents PCSOs, has encouraged people in Norfolk to sign a petition of support for PCSOs from 10.30am at the following locations over the coming few days:

Thetford Guildhall on Tuesday, November 21; outside Market Gates in Great Yarmouth on Wednesday, November 22; Kings Lynn Tuesday Marketplace on Tuesday, November 28; outside Cromer tourist office Meadow Road carpark on Friday, December 1; outside the Forum in Norwich on Saturday, December 2.
