Residents have describe a man who was found dead in Thetford as 'lovely'.
A police investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found at a property in Canons Walk.
The death is being treated as unexplained after officers were called to a property near the Redcastle Furze School at 11am on Monday, July 9 following concerns for a person's safety.
On arrival officers found the body of a man.
Residents on the estate have described the man, who has not been named, as 'lovely' and how he was a part of the community who could often been seen walking his dog.
One said: 'I used to see him walking his dog around the area and he was always a lovely man with a well trained dog.
'I feel sorry he has gone.'
A cordon has been placed around the property whilst officers carry out their initial enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Chris Archer said: 'We are in the early stages of our investigation and enquiries are ongoing as we try to establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death which is currently being treated as unexplained.'
Another resident, who wished not to be named, said: 'We don't hear about things like this normally.
'This is your average quiet estate with lots of children who run around and play.
'I saw that the police had put a cordon near the shops and had police guarding the door.'
Tina Gallagher, 56, who lives on Canons Walk, said: ' I had not heard anything about it. This is a small housing estate like any other. The problem is that no-one talks anymore or looks out for each other.
'This is a quiet area, other than children running around, but we don't normally have things like this happening.
'I don't know how people did not know anything about it.'
Police left the scene at around 5.30pm on Monday, July 9. The property remains cordoned off with police tape.
