Police and prosecutors will decide whether to proceed with murder charges after a pathologist's report found a 58-year-old man found dead in Norfolk died of “natural causes”.

The body of David Binet, 58, was discovered when police and paramedics were called to his home in Bilney Lane, Felthorpe, near Norwich, in the early hours of Friday.

It is believed Mr Binet had been hit over the head with a kitchen pan and his wife Fran, 46, also suffered shock and minor injuries in the attack. Their adopted son, Stuart Binet, 33, was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released on police bail pending further investigations.

Yesterday a police spokesman said: “A post mortem examination was conducted on Saturday by a Home Office pathologist. The death has been identified as a result of natural causes, namely a heart attack.

“Police enquiries continue with a view to consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service and further investigations on behalf of the coroner.”
