Police have charged 67-year-old Warren Goring from Mundesley with the murder of his wife at their home earlier this week.
Shirley Goring, aged 63, was discovered dead at her house in All Saints Road on Thursday.
Officers were called just before 10am and later arrested Goring in connection with the incident.
Yesterday he was in custody being questioned while a post mortem was carried out on the body of his wife.
Susanne Crannage, from Norfolk Constabulary, said: 'Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Mundesley have tonight charged a 67-year-old man with murder.'
Goring is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court this morning.
