Traffic was delayed for almost two hours in Great Yarmouth this morning after a 40ft articulated lorry got wedged into a narrow road.

Gapton Hall Road was blocked between the Burgh Road junction and Hewett Road, after the lorry got stuck at a 45-degree angle and burst two tyres.

A police statement released at 7.49am read: 'Lorry stuck in The Narrows, Gapton Hall Road, Great Yarmouth. One lane clear but allow for delays in that area. Recovery due in around an hour so may cause further delays at that time.'

One of the tyres on the lorry's cab and another on its trailer blew out, leaving it stranded at the scene, and now a larger lorry is needed to recover it.

The lorry has now been recovered and the road is due to be clear by 9am.
