It was a case of here we go as well as hair you go at the Fakenham Sport Relief event on Sunday.

More than 70 runners - ranging in age from 18 months to 60 years - took part in the one, three or six mile runs around the town's sun-bathed football club ground at Clipbush Park.

And while some of the runners suffered some aches and pains, perhaps the most pain was felt by the club's first team management duo Wayne Anderson and Neil Jarvis who had their legs waxed as part of the fund-raising event.

'On the scale of one to 10 of pain, I'd say it is a nine!' joked Neil.

Wayne quipped: 'I'd give it an eight!'

Event organiser Tony Miles said: 'I'm really pleased with how the whole event has gone and has been a really good family event and amazing to be part of a huge national event. It's been worth all the hard work and is all about the amount we have raised for charity.'

Fakenham Sports & Fitness Centre did warm ups for all the runners, Fakenham osteopaths did massages for runners and local photographer took post race pictures, with proceeds going to Sport Relief.

The Fakenham event was also featured in the BBC Radio Norfolk Sunday morning Treasure Quest challenge

Compere for the day was Richard Tree, the advertising sales representative for the EDP and Fakenham and Wells Times.

*Students at Dereham Sixth Form College raised about 330 for Sport Relief from a range of activities on Friday including a mile run, games, sports fancy dress, dance competition and cake sale.
