Around 950 walkers and cyclists took part in the annual Ride for Life today to raise thousands of pounds for a much-valued children's hospice charity.
Participants descended on Santon Downham in Thetford Forest for the 19th annual event for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).
Organisers spoke of their delight after hundreds of walkers and cyclists turned up on the morning to take part in the EDP-sponsored event, despite cold and overcast conditions.
Claire Stannard, Norfolk fundraiser for EACH, said the turnout was 'brilliant' considering the weather.
'The last couple of years, the weather has not been the best and people wait to see what the weather is like on the morning. Ride for Life is EACH's biggest event of the year and it is massively important for us, we usually raise �50,000 from this event and it is also important in raising the awareness of the charity,' she said.
More than 50 volunteers from RAF Honington helped steward the route and American servicemen and women from RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall also helped out.
Participants took part in different length walks and off-road and on-road cycle routes in the forest.
