Tributes have been paid to a long serving special needs assistant who has died.

Pamela Cracknell died on March 31 at the age of 69 in her home. She had been a volunteer and assistant at Chapel Road School for children with special needs in Attleborough for more than 16 years.

After working at the school she moved to work for Attleborough Day Services in 1989 where she served the community for a further 16 years.

Mrs Cracknell met her husband Bruce Cracknell on a blind date in 1966. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January 2020.

Towards the end of her life she received treatment at Priscilla Bacon Lodge with donations taken at her funeral raising £312.

The funeral was held at St Mary's Attleborough on April 16. She is survived by her husband Bruce, son Martin and daughter Deborah.
