The day at Ormiston Herman Academy started with a special talk on Paddington delivered by teacher Lorraine Manifold, a collector of Paddington merchandise. She shared stories about her collection and told the children which bear in her collection was her favourite.

All the children then got involved with making and sampling Paddington's favourite food - marmalade sandwiches. For the Year 6 children, there was an opportunity to sample different bread and marmalade combinations, including Seville orange, lemon, and lime; as well as brioche and fruit bread.

Kathryn Rutherford, principal, delivered assembly dressed as Mrs Bird (the housekeeper in Paddington) who set the children special challenges – to find out facts about Peru, to learn about Paddington station, and to solve maths problems involving Wellington boots.

After the assembly, the children were treated to a special lunch of Paddington treats.
