The owner of a letter dating back to 1941 which was handed into police after being found in a street has come forward to claim it.
The letter – addressed to a Mr Grint of London Road South informing of details of signing up to the RAF Volunteer Reserve in 1941 – was found in Notley Road and handed into police on Friday.
There were also photographs with the letter and a postcard dating to 1945.
