Johnny and Justine Watts, who run the Little Owls nursery in Toftwood as well as after school and holiday clubs at the infant and junior schools, have opened a new Little Owls at Scarning.

Based at Railway Farm on Fen Road it is just one mile down the road from the Toftwood nursery and mirrors the same high quality provision and resources.

Mr and Mrs Watts have been running nurseries in the Dereham area for the past 28 years and all their settings have been rated outstanding by Ofsted.

The new Little Owls Scarning offers full-time wrap-around care for children aged between two and five years and is open all year round from 7.30am to 6pm.

Mrs Watts said: 'Our aim at Little Owls Scarning is to provide high quality childcare and pre-school education to all families in the local communities. We offer purpose built classrooms with the highest quality resources and equipment available.

'We are also fortunate to have amazing outdoor facilities with a lovely outdoor forest style garden. Our children have the additional benefit of having peepholes erected in the perimeter fence to view the horses and local wildlife.

'All staff employed at the nursery are qualified and experienced and our aim is to share good practice and training with our sister Toftwood nursery.

'The initial response for the nursery has been fantastic and as our Toftwood nursery is full to capacity until 2018 it has enabled lots of local families to be within the position to register their children with Little Owls.'

Due to increased demand the couple are also extending the Toftwood nursery by building a new classroom for the three to four-year-old provision.

With the government's 30-hour free childcare being introduced from September for all eligible three-year olds they were initially unable to meet their current parents' needs to extend their sessions as the nursery was at full capacity.

The new classroom will open at the beginning of October.
