Jaimz Mee probably felt a sense of disappointment when he didn't win the Art category at the Norfolk Youth Awards 2018.

But, as he, his family and his friend supporting him said, it was nice just to be nominated.

What none of them guessed was that Jaimz, 16, from Stalham, would win the biggest award of the night, the Outstanding Achievement Award, sponsored by Leathes Prior solicitors.

The award was made to the young person out of all the short-listed nominees who has, in the opinion of the judges, proved themselves to be a star, overcoming any challenges, and following their interests with a passion.

Jaimz is totally dedicated to dance, despite being bullied for it and for his appearance, and being told by a school teacher he was 'too fat to dance'.

He moved schools to pursue his interest, attends dance classes five to six days a week and wants his own company.

Jamiz said: 'It's literally the best day.'
