Mrs Smith, of High Kelling, was matron at the Elizabeth Fitzroy home for handicapped people in Overstrand from the 1970s. She was born in Cumbria and became a nurse in the 1960s. She moved to Norfolk with her husband Arthur to take up her position in Overstrand and after retiring she became warden of High Kelling's All Saints Church.
Mrs Smith leaves one daughter, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at All Saints Church at noon on Tuesday, July 17.
