Police have urged drivers to slow down after catching a string of motorists speeding on the A11 - including one novice driver who was doing 103mph and two more who were clocked at 109mph.
The road casualty reduction team of Norfolk and Suffolk's roads policing unit have been tweeting some of their activities over the weekend. And they said by 1pm yesterday they had caught nine drivers speeding on the A11, the highest at 98mph. Later in the afternoon, they reported that a driver who had only passed their test less than a year ago was clocked at 103mph on the A11.
The team also clocked a car doing 91mph, with two defective tyres and passengers including a child.
And, on the A47, they stopped a motorist after they nearly drove into learner driver.
They tweeted: 'Only reactions of instructor and dual controls avoided crash.'
Today Sgt Chris Harris, from the unit, tweeted: 'Just visited the Central @NSRoadsPolicing team & they've informed me that they've just stopped two cars together at 109mph.'
The cars were caught speeding down the A11 at Wymondham towards Thetford just before 10am on Sunday, one behind the other one.
