A Norwich walking football club has held a five-a-side tournament in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (Each).

Walking football is a slower-paced version of football aimed at encouraging senior participation and Norwich SOCA Seniors is one of the largest clubs in the country.

The tournament at the Norfolk FA Football Development Centre in Bowthorpe involved over 80 players and the competition was separated into two categories, over 50s and over 65s.

The event raised a total of £1,562.09 for Each, which will support the charity's continued care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.

Geoff Brown, club member, said: 'We all realise how fortunate we are to be in our 60s and 70s and still be capable of playing football twice a week, and it seemed obvious we should be helping children and their families through the work done by Each.'
