One man not getting too worried about Paul Lambert's exit from Carrow Road is chairman of the Independent Norwich City Supporters Club, Robin Sainty.

Although thankful for the brilliant past three years Lambert has masterminded for the Canaries, Mr Sainty wants to know how that success is going to be maintained.

He said: 'We've had three years of absolutely unbelievable success that no one will ever forget. So on the one hand I think it is wrong to criticise Paul Lambert too much, but equally I think that it would be wrong to eulogise about him too much.

'He's done a fantastic job and I'm grateful to him, but at the end of the day he will be an ex-Norwich City manager and I support Norwich City, not ex-managers.

'I certainly don't have any axe to grind with him, but when the new bloke comes in, he will have my full support and I'll be worrying about what he is doing, not Paul Lambert.'

Mr Sainty now wants to see the club move quickly to appoint Paul Lambert's successor, and even believes that the situation could become a positive one for the Canaries.

He added: 'It might turn out to be a positive because last season we were coming into the Premier League and everything was a new and fresh experience for us, and Lambert.

'So I think the second season was always going to be more difficult because opposing teams are going to know so much more about us.

'I just think a new person in charge might give us a fresh impetus and enthusiasm to give us that little extra push we need.'
