The owner of a Norwich home care provider has launched a campaign aiming to tackle a shortage of care workers.

Chris Carter, who runs the Norwich office of Home Care Instead, is aiming to banish misconceptions about care work while raising awareness of the rewarding nature of the role. According to Skills for Care, the strategic body for workforce development in adult social care in England, there are approximately 90,000 vacancies in the social care sector at any given time. As part of the You Can Care campaign, Home Care Instead is hoping to fill 75 jobs in 2018 in order to keep pace with demand.

Mr Carter said: 'There are so many wonderful moments that go hand in hand with the role of a care giver. Our team will be sharing a few images and updates tagged with the hashtag #youcancare to show the world why they love their jobs and how care giving can be a genuinely rewarding career for the right people.'
