A Norwich bus had to be stopped this morning after a passenger was 'suddenly taken ill'.

A crew from the East of England Ambulance Service were called at around 8.08am to Rampant Horse Street, in the city centre, to a male patient on the First Bus, service 21.

The driver called an ambulance for the passenger after being notified of the situation.

A spokesman from the service said: 'We are still at scene treating the man who is conscious. We have an ambulance, a cycle response bike medic and the east Anglian air ambulance team, who attended by response car there.'
