The Bishop of Norwich arrived in a horse-drawn carriage at the launch of a fundraising effort to save a church's thatched roof.
The Rt Rev Graham James travelled four miles from the village of Wilby to Old Buckenham with horse owner Alison Tyas, pulled by retired Welsh Cob Red Stripe, aged 29.
All Saints Church is in need of £100,000 to save its rare thatched roof.
Parishioners heard the bishop speak about the importance of community support for their heritage, before walking across the village green for a lunch organised by Terry Cracknell and Ray Bayfield at The Game Keeper pub, with contributions towards the meal kickstarting the fundraising.
Terry Cracknell said: 'We need to think big and work as a community to achieve our target. The village without a church is unthinkable, however together we can do this and protect our heritage for generations to come.'
