A swarm of Santas could be seen careering through Norfolk villages at the weekend when more than 100 people donned the famous red and white suit for a charity cause.

The Christmas-inspired event was the brain child of Claire Tidy who organised for 104 people – and dogs – to dress up as Father Christmas and bike or walk through Irstead, Neatishead, Ashmanhaugh and back.

The aim was to raise money for the Women V Cancer charity and fund Mrs Tidy to complete a 350km charity bike ride through India next year.

Speaking about the event on Sunday, the 47-year-old mother-of-two from Irstead, near Barton Broad, said: 'I was overwhelmed with the number of people that turned up and I really couldn't be more thankful for people's generosity. It really helped me on my way to my fund raising goal.'

The event raised 824.50 towards her target of 2800. If you wish to donate money, contact Mrs Tidy on 07920842242
