Norfolk has been revealed as the top treasure hotspot across England and Wales.
According to new research, Norfolk is the home of treasure, with one in eight finds being discovered in the county.
Nearly 1.3 million archeological finds have been discovered in England and Wales, with 1,292 of these coming from Norfolk.
A treasurable find is any metallic object that is at least 300 years old with at least 10pc of its weight is made of gold or silver. Coins must be found in multiples to be considered treasure.
Following on from Norfolk, other hotspots include Yorkshire, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Essex.
The three most valuable finds in Norfolk are a gold and silver electrum dating back to the Iron Age, which is worth £80,000, a gold torc from the Iron Age worth £65,000 and a set of gold bracelets from the Bronze Age worth £35,000.
