Tips on how to look after foreign birds were the order of the day at a popular event at the Norfolk Showground yesterday.

More than 500 people from across the UK attended the show organised by the Norfolk Foreign Bird Association.

Activities included arts and crafts as well as sales of birds directly from breeders and various other bird related events.

Information and advice was available on how to care for a range of birds from Macaws to Zebra Finches and the tiny Waxbills.

There was also an opportunity to talk directly to bird breeders.

Philip Dye, one of the organisers of the evnt which is held three times a year, said: 'If somebody is interested at all in keeping birds, this is the ideal place to go because there are all sorts of experts and breeders available.'
