Crews and members of the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service control room were praised after receiving a surge of calls on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Group Manager Andy Heginbotham, of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: 'It has been a very busy and challenging weekend for us with the weather causing numerous problems. Road conditions have been extremely hazardous due to the snow, freezing temperatures and flood water.'
'Our firefighters both in our control room and on our fire engines have done an excellent job in often very difficult conditions. In many cases there isn't always a great deal we can do when people experience flooding other than to offer advice, but in other cases crews have rescued distressed people caught in floodwater.
'We would echo the advice of Norfolk Police and urge people not to attempt to pass flooded roads as the water can often be far deeper than it looks.'
