For Norfolk Day to be the success that we think it can be, we are urging individuals, community groups, attractions, organisations and businesses to think about how they might actively get involved.

Here are a few ideas to get you started....

INDIVIDUALS

Would you be prepared to hold something in the community in which you live? It could be a picnic in the park, summer street party or maybe just a coffee morning. Perhaps you could encourage your child's school to get involved too? We'll be asking schools to consider Norfolk-themed projects in the lead up to the day itself.

Norfolk Day offers the perfect opportunity to get together, meet new people and celebrate a shared love for the county.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

So often the glue which hold our towns and villages together, we would urge community groups to think of ways they can celebrate Norfolk Day. Could you hold an event which helps you shout about the work you do to make Norfolk the county we all love? It could be something for people of all ages, or just families or maybe something based on sports activities. Perhaps your community groups could encourage local pubs and businesses in the area to get involved?

VENUES

Several of our many venues have already shown an interest in hosting events as part of the Norfolk Day celebrations. We'd love to have many more. It could be a night of music, dance or performance or maybe some kind of exhibition? Perhaps something with a Norfolk-theme?

BUSINESSES

For businesses, pubs, the tourism sector, restaurants and cafes Norfolk Day not only offers the chance to get in the spirit and get involved, but also showcase what you do so well. Are there special offers you could run just for Norfolk Day? What about themes, such as a Norfolk- inspired menu or promotions on Norfolk-related products? Friday offers the perfect opportunity to host some sort of special event.

If you are organising something for Norfolk Day, no matter how big or small, then please tell us about it so we can give it some promotion. Email norfolkday@archant.co.uk
