Norfolk Chamber of Commerce members have demonstrated their wholehearted support for the EDP-backed Say Yes to Better Broadband campaign.
The campaign aims to prove the commercial demand for Norfolk County Council's project to equip the majority of the county with superfast internet, which has secured 30m of public funding.
At a Norwich Chamber business breakfast at Dunston Hall hotel outside Norwich yesterday, the county's business community queued up to add their support.
Caroline Williams, chief executive of the Norfolk Chamber, said: 'Our chamber members are totally behind this scheme, because they recognise how vital it is that broadband speeds up in Norfolk to ensure business is competitive. 'The next step in this scheme is to attract competitive bids from telecoms providers to install the actual infrastructure. But before we do that, we need individuals and businesses in Norfolk to register their interest.
'So we are calling all businesses and their employees to go to www.norfolk.gov.uk/sayyesnorfolk to show their support and really put some weight behind the campaign.'
