The girls from across Norfolk have been competing in the Miss UK competition, run by model Kerri Parker,

Ms Parker could be giving her crown away to one of her girls, as she is the former Miss UK and Ms British Empire.

Ms Parker said: 'My goal with Miss Norfolk was to set up the pageant and coach these girls to go to Miss UK and bring back as many national crowns to the region as possible!

'Last year I took both Miss UK and Miss Charity and I know these girls will be bringing at least one of the 7 Miss UK crowns home if not more!'

The girls who will be travelling to Cannock this weekend to compete in Miss UK are: Junior Miss Norfolk, Lily Greatrex, Pre-Teen Miss Norfolk, Mollie Dawes, Teen Miss Norfolk, Shae Brown, Miss Norfolk, Elisha Hudson, as well as Queen Miss Norfolk, Kerry Brady, Miss Charity Norfolk, Lucy Richardson and Most charitable Effort Miss Norfolk, Hollie Ikins.

So far the Miss Norfolk competition has raised £8,000 this year for Brain Tumour Research.

Ms Parker was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013, and was given a 10% chance of survival.

Ms Parker said: 'One of our winners Elisha also suffers from a brain tumour and is being so brave. I'm so pleased she will potentially follow in my footsteps.'

Miss Hudson, 24, from Northrepps, previously told the North Norfolk News: 'I have up days and down days with this, but having something positive to focus on has helped so much. I have another appointment in a month to see how much my tumour has grown, but I've got this to focus on for now.'

Other winners of the Miss Norfolk crowns have battled the odds to come out on top.

Junior Miss Norfolk Chloe Greatrex who lives in Norwich was born with a heart condition, and lives with virtually no immune system. Despite a common cold being potentially lethal, Chloe says she is determined to do everything people say she can't.

Teen Miss Norfolk Shae Brown's mother said: 'I have neurological diseases, movement disorder, arthritis, and the list goes on. Shae is a young carer for me when I'm poorly or have seizures, she's my rock.'
